Welcome to a new Lion’s year! Thank you for this exciting opportunity to lead you through the year. First of all, on behalf of all Beltsville Lions, I would like to thank Lion Ted for leading us the past several years as King Lion. Also, I would personally like to thank Ted for all his guidance and encouragement while I’ve been a Lion. He is truly inspirational to me, and for all of us, I’m sure! He is what Lionism is all about.

I am looking forward to a fun and successful year, and ask everyone’s assistance in making that possible. We have a great Club and a lot of dedicated and energetic Lions. I would ask that you all continue your enthusiastic support so we can maintain the fine tradition over the past years.

I don’t anticipate any major changes this year, but if possible, I would like to get more of our Club members to participate in the Club activities. More participation will give us the opportunity to help more in the Beltsville community, and will lessen the burden on a few of our dedicated Lions who help at every event. Please try to make more of an effort to attend the monthly Dinner Meetings so I can meet each member of our Club, and we can become more personally involved in the Club activities.

Our Club added 7 new members last year, which is a fantastic accomplishment. I would like to match that amount this year, but realize that would be very difficult. Please consider nominating family, friends or co-workers into our Club this year and we’ll hope for the best! We need to make those outside of Lionism aware of what a great organization we are. Any chance you have, please spread the word about how helpful Lions are in the community. This will make our fundraising easier and help us meet our membership goal.
